The book underlines fundamental issues that undermine socio-economic and political development of various peoples in the African continent. The majority of the African political class uncontrollably neglects its duty to address the basic issues affecting the people in various countries in the continent. The book argues that the political class strategically segments its people along the lines of negative ethnicity for personal interests to the height that respective countries function as fractured and fragmented political entities defined by instigated hatred for each other, corruption, violence, conflicts and disrespect for the rule of law. Lawbreakers are being used to settle political scores and equally enter into politics to be lawmakers. Political leadership is sought in the name of narrow and divisive philosophy whose preferred strategy is often that of taking recourse to violence and other related forms rather than the general good of the people.
