SOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL JUSTICE

Germain Clerveau ‘s Social and Ecological Justice provides us with a rich exposition of the ethic of virtue and justice and how, with a rich tradition of papal social teaching, moves us to deep solidarity, option for the poor and ecological care. He then draws on this rich ethical and theological tradition to address the deep issues of social erosion, deforestation and the loss of solidarity in Haiti. He usefully draws us to reflect on a Haitian classic novel, Jacques Roumain’s Masters of the Dew. I strongly recommend the book.
