TOPICS OF INTEREST ON RENEWABLE SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS

The book addresses the integration of renewable energy sources into sustainable and efficient energy systems, with focus on solar-assisted tri-generation (CCHP). It combines theoretical and experimental research using both traditional and original methods, and presents, in a structured, step-by-step approach, the constructive and functional aspects of such systems. New and useful background information on renewable energy sources, especially solar energy, is provided along with an original SWOT analysis on Romanian’s renewable energy potential. The work also explores the technologies and benefits of photovoltaic cooling, with emphasis on thermoelectric generators. It concludes with original contributions in life cycle assessment, end-of-life analysis, as well as energy – exergy analyses of both individual components and the overall hybrid system, highlighting environmental impact and quantified effects.
