The Diarrhoeal diseases remain to be a public health concern despite the existence of preventive measures and developing are the most affected. It affects more children under five years compared to the rest of the population. Its influencing factors include among others climate changes. This book highlight the use of routine data to monitor and determine the burden of diarrhoeal diseases in children under five years. Its content illustrates results from a study conducted in Rwanda with aim to determine the trends, spatial-temporal, and seasonal patterns of diarrhoeal diseases in children under five years using data reported in the Health Management Information System (HMIS) from 2014 to 2018. This was an ecological study using retrospective data analysis of new cases of diarrhoea among children under five years. We used aggregated monthly reports on outpatients from all health facilities and cases reported by Community Health Workers (CHWs) during the study period.
