Harold Pinter, one of the most genuine playwright in Modern Contemporary British Drama, represents reality in medias res. In his pamphlet, the screenwriter synthetizes his dramatic poetics by means of two dialectical verbs, ‘to wear’ and ‘to strip’, recurring all over his work. From the analysis of this sort of movements emerges various original meanings of some aspects, referring to historical and cultural background, interpersonal and emotional relationships, which contribute to the construction of characters.
