The present study was undertaken with main objective of studying the effect of organic matter on soil moisture content and on tomato growth under drip irrigation. This study was conducted at RUBIRIZI farm, Kanombe sector, and KICUKIRO district in Kigali city.to carryout this study, Latin square design was adopted for the experimental plots. The experiment was conducted with three treatments T1, T2 and T3 with respective doses of organic fertilizers of 2.5T/Ha, 5T/Ha and 7.5T/Ha replicated three times. soil moisture samples were taken once in two weeks at three different depths of 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60cm and different parameters were considered such as: Tomato height at 10th, 25th, 40th and 55th day after transplanting, number of branches at 25th, 40th and 55th day after transplanting, number of flowers at 25th, 40th and 55thday after transplanting, he number of tomato fruits at 40th, 55th and 70thday after transplanting and tomato vigor at 10th, 25th, 40th and 55th day after transplanting.
