Recognizing that Mauritania possesses exceptional wind and solar energy resources, which, if efficiently harnessed for clean and cost-effective electricity production, as well as large-scale production of green hydrogen and ammonia, will create significant momentum and a new industry. In addition to its abundant renewable energy resources, Mauritania holds a strategic geographical position, adjacent to major global maritime routes, providing easy access to green hydrogen markets. It is in this context that our book presents a new concept regarding the state of the art of renewable energy projects from 1980 to 2023, as well as the vision for the state's horizon until 2050. It outlines why the approaches and design for each type of project, whether solar, wind, or hybrid systems, are essential. It offers an alternative path, drawing inspiration from the scientific approach for wind project evaluation and providing the best technological choices from various wind turbine manufacturers suitable for our desert climate.
