DICTIONARY OF WORDS, EXPRESSIONS, AND IDIOMS USED IN TRAVELLING AND TOURISM

Finding idioms related  to tourism  and travelling in a general dictionary is a slow and laborious task and it is hoped that this dictionary will provide assistance in a practical way, especially due to the scarcity of research in this field.

Through the close examination of the dictionaries and the corpora this work intends to pinpoint over 3000 entries (acronyms and abbreviations included)  and to unveil not only their degree of idiomacity  but also their level of intelligibility. 

Having these goals as a background, the auhtor has intended to develop this dictionary in a practical direction which will include a list of words, expressions, idioms and idiomatic expressions related to travelling and Tourism which is meant to be an useful tool for students and English teachers, both at university level and for English as a second language, as well as for anyone interested in the more colourful side of the English language.
